(Albert Kroes, age 69, of Taylor, Wisconsin passed away on February 27, 2011, in Woodville, Texas.
Albert was born on February 25, 1942, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Jack and Margaret Kroes. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1967 in France and Vietnam. He then made his home in La Crosse where he married Margaret (Penny) Campbell in 1964. He found a job he loved and owned Black Oak Auto Sales for over 20 years. He enjoyed going to car auctions, Nascar events, and his annual trip to the Iola swap meet with his buddies Fred, Art and Dan.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years; two sons, Daniel (Terry) Schleifer and Tim; daughter, Darlene; and granddaughter, Miranda; two foster sons, Kevin (Cindy) Craig and Arthur (Diane) Eldridge; special cousins, Leroy and Leona Benson of Michigan; good friends, Dudley and Audrey Kelley of Woodville, Texas; and his dog, Precious. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation for Al from 1:00 pm until the time of memorial services at 3:00 p.m. on May 4, 2011 at Dickinson Family Funeral Home (1425 Jackson St.), La Crosse, Wisconsin.)
