Notes about Ludovicus Franciscus van den Bergh

Op 11 mei 1909 huwde Louis van de Bergh met Ludovica van den Eynden.

Samen richtten zij een boerderij op in de Achterstraat te Achterbroek en dit naast de ouderlijke hoeve. 

 Louis was een eenvoudige en noeste werker. Zijn gezin en de boerderij waren zijn leven. De oorlog bracht evenwel zware klappen mee. Tot tweemaal toe werd heel hun hoeve vernield waarbij ook nog 2 van hun kinderen omkwamen. Dit gebeuren heeft heel hun verdere leven beinvloed. Maar Louis moest vooruit en herbeginnen ondanks alles. En de boer , hij ploegde voort. Zijn paarden waren bij hen niet weg te denken. Je zou kunnen zeggen: "Aan ploeg en kruis trouw" zo eveneens "aan paard en pijp trouw". Want pijpen heeft Louis veel gerookt. 

Ieder zondag kuierde hij met zijn broer - voor velen "Nonkel Ede" of "de Nonkel"- de akker in terwijl het vrouwvolk , Louise en Jonne thuis bleven buurten over van alles en nog wat... over de kinderen en de kleinkinderen en over de goeie ouwe tijd. 

Zij waren ook graag geziene mensen in Achterbroek.

Louis was bestuurslid van de plaatselijke melkerij "Hand in Hand", en lid van zowat alle plaatselijke verenigingen.

Na Na een leven met zware beproevingen hebben zij nog een mooie herfst gekend waarbij hun familie en boederij hun grote vreugde waren.
