22 februari 1944

Thijs de Bruijn was de zoon van Hendrikus de Bruijn en Theodora H. van Hest, woonde met zijn echtgenote Johanna "Hanne" de Bruijn-Maassen Achter Valburg 65. Een getrouwde dochter woonde met haar gezin in de Stenen Kruisstraat en drie andere kinderen , onder wie de inwonende Jan en Marie, bevonden zich elders. Dat heeft hen gered. Het huis Achter Valburg 65 kreeg een voltreffer en de resten van Thijs en Hanne zijn pas dagen later onder het puin vandaan gehaald.
