Karloman (Pippijn de Grote) der Franken (de Gebochelde)

Pippijn, koning der Lombarden, geb. 777, overl. Milaan 8.7.810, begr. in de kerk San Zeno Maggiore te Verona. Vergezelde zijn vader naar Italië, alwaar hij werd gedoopt door paus Hadrianus, bij welke gelegenheid zijn naam Karel (of Karloman) werd veranderd in Pippijn. Werd te Rome op 15.4.781 tot koning gekroond. Uit zijn verbintenis (voor 796) met Chrothais, zonder twijfel nauw geparenteerd aan Adelhard van Corbië en diens halfbroer Wala, de toekomstige beschermheren van Bernard van Italië, werden de volgende kinderen geboren
a. Bernard, volgt IIIA
b. Adelais, geb. ca. 798, overl. na 810.
c. Adula, geb. ca. 800/10, overl. na 810.
d. Gundrada, geb. ca. 800/10, overl. na 810.
