Vanuit Duitsland om de Franse troepen te ontvluchten komen ze Nederland binnen. De kranten beschrijven hen als een groep koordendansers, voltigeurs, pantomimisten enz... Rond de Belgische Revolutie vinden we het gezin in het noorden van Nederland, met name te Overijssel. Ze hebben inmiddels vier kinderen Liesje, Guillaume (Willem), Placide. Kleine Carel is op vijfjarige leeftijd tijdens de kermis te Maarssen gestorven. Samen met de broer van Peter, Wilhelm, en zijn vrouw Louisa bezoeken ze verschillende jaarmarkten en kermissen. Hun stillegplek is Zutphen.
Peter sterft in Zwolle, 47 jaar oud. Zijn weduwe Allegonda gaat dapper door met hun voorstellingen o.a. in Zwolle en Leeuwarden. Ondertussen heeft ze veel van haar kleinkinderen geboren zien worden en helaas ook verschillende daarvan weer moeten afstaan aan de dood. Ze sterft in een passantenhuis te Zutphen, 78 jaar oud.
