Is waarschijnlijk omgekomen als krijgsgevangene in Rusland tijdens de terugtocht van de legers van Napoleon in November 1812.
In zijn militaire stamboom is vermeld (in het Frans) dat hij krijgsgevangene is gemaakt in Krasnoy op 17 november 1812.
Huwelijkse bijlagen van zijn kinderen geven aan dat hij als soldaat in het leger van Napoleon waarschijnlijk gesneuveld.
Ondanks alle pogingen die gedaan zijn om deze status bevestigd te krijgen is dit niet gelukt.
