Froissart dit qu'il était du comté de Looz. Gelinden est un village du Limbourg à six kilomètres de Saint-Trond.
II fut l'un des seigneurs du pays de Tirlemont que le comte de Flandre somma en 1356 de lui rendre hommage.
Il figure comme témoin dans une charte du 11 décem-bre 1365relative à une rente que Guillaume comte de Namur tenait en fief du duc de Brabant.
Sa femmeso nommait Mario Sbox. Voyez le livre des fiefs du Brabant, publié par M. Galesloot, p 203.
