Er floh aus dem Elternhaus, das von der streng katholischen Mutter regiert wurde, indem er sich mit 17 Jahren der deutschen Armee anschloß. Auch sein Bruder Luub wolte da raus, er plante im 2. Weltkrieg nach England fliehen. Im Krieg erhielt er einen Armdurchschuß auf höhe des Ellbogens. Er verbrachte Zeit in der Reha im Erzgebirge. Am Ende des Krieges geriet er in Amerikanische Gefangenschaft. Zurück in den NL wurde er als Überläufer behandelt, unbekannt wie lange, er musste eine Strafe für jugendliche absitzen. Nach der Hochzeit lebte er mit Frau bei einer Fam. de Jong in Amsterdam, Prinsenijland. 1957/58 ging er nach Deutschland um dort zu Arbeiten. Er tat sich aufgrund der Vergangenheit schwer bei der Arbeitsuche in NL.
Er ging nach Stuttgart und fand eine Job als Linienbusfahrer bei den Stadtwerken. Dann kamen Frau und Kinder nach und lebten zusammen in Bonlanden (heute Teil von Filderstadt. Er fuhr nebenher für einen Reisebusunternehmer Strauch in Bonlanden. Circa 1965 fing er für die Fa. Raychem zu Arbeiten, er war der dritte Angestellte ( später über 600) in Deutschland, die deutsche Niederlassung wurde von John Ohme geleitet. Die Fa. zog 1967 um nach München. Hier lebte die Familie in Parsdorf von 1967 bis 1969 in eine gemietetem Haus im Buchenweg 17. Aufgrund ständiger Reibereien mit dem Vermieter wurde 1969 ein Haus in Riemerling, Georgienenstr, 42 bezogen. In den 70er Jahren zog er sich immer mehr aus der Familie zurück, er war ständig unterwegs oder bis spät in der Nacht in der Arbeit. 1975 nach dem Umzug nach Ottobrunn verlies er die Familie und zog in ein Appartment in München. Er lebte ab dann seine Homosexualität aus. Jerry Astill aus den Utah/USA wurde sein neuer Lebenspartner, sie lebten zusammen in der Nockherstr. in München. Mein Vater machte mit Mitte 50 meist den Urlaub im asiatischen Raum, Sri Lanka, Malaysia. Nach der ersten Krebserkrankung wurde er an den vom Krebs befallenen Stimmbänder operiert, seine Stimme hat sich verändert. Später wurde er auch an der Lunge und Kehlkopf operiert, 1/3 seiner Lunge und der Kehlkopf wurden entfernt. Nach der ersten OP und der möglichkeit in "Frührente" zu gehen. wanderte er nach Malaysia aus. Dort lebte er mit einem Din zusammen der auch all seiner Vermögenswerte die in MY vorhanden waren, wie z.B. eine großen 4 Zimmerwohnung im 22. Stockwerk eines auf dem Berg stehenden Hochhaus in Cheras bei KL. Er starb an Darmkrebs. Er bekam im Alter von Anfang 40 Hörgeräte, im hohen Alter war so gut wie keine Verständigung per Sprache mehr möglich weil er nicht mehr hören konnte, durch die OP am Kehlkopf verlor er auch die Fähigkeit zum Sprechen, als ich ihn zum lezten Mal gesehen habe ( April 2008 in MY) konnte man sich nur schriftlich im ihm verständigen. Bei meinen Kinder hieß er "der Lochopa" wegen dem Loch das er in der Loftröhre am Hals hatte. Er wurde Feuerbestattet und die Asche wurde in der "Staße von Malakka" verstreut.
