Edo was kunstenaar. Hij werd oa bekend op 1 april 1962 met het beeld van Paaseiland, dat was aangespoeld in Zandvoort. Hij maakte ook het kunstwerk "Tolerantie", een monument van verdraagzaamheid, op het Stationsplein in Hilversum. (tr. 6-5-1953 C.J.Nijssen : 4 zoons + 2 dochters, jongste is Froukje)
