Deelde op zijn verjaardag aan alle Thornaren gratis jenever uit. Het werd elk jaar weer een groot feest. Vele inwoners dwarrelden dronken door de straten, na afloop. Ook Joseph Antoine.
In het militieregister 1814-1819 staat hij ingeschreven, bij het Regiment Lichte Dragonders, onder nummer 1756 als Josephus Antonius Corbey, zoon van Jan Mathias Corbey en Antoientte W. Meyer, geboren te Thorn 21 dec. 1800, laatst gewoond te Thorn. Bij zijne aankomst bij het Corps, lang 5 voeten 8 duimen 3 streek. Aangezicht lag, voorhoofd rond, ogen bruin, neus ordinair, kin rond, haar bruin. Zonder merkbare tekenen. Op 12 april 1820 is hij geremplaceerd.
