Heeft het Zeevaartschool diploma gehaald, en was op 19 jarige leeftijd Stuurmansleerling, hoefde geen dienstplicht te vervullen wegens Broederdienst
samen kregen zij 1 zoon: Adriaan (Ari) die naar Amerika is vertrokken.
Adriaan senior heeft nog in Indonesië gewoond
notitie Loek van Nus: Ari, 1909-?, is, vermoed ik, de eerste van zijn broers en zussen die een middelbare school -opleiding genoot. Of dit nu Mulo was, of HBS weet ik niet. Ari werd de intellectueel van de familie genoemd. Hij voer als marconist o.a. op Indonesië, waar hij zich later vestigde bij een verzekeringsbedrijf op de Wiskunde -afdeling. Terug in Nederland in de jaren vijftig zat dat kantoor in en van de kapitale panden aan de Weteringsschans, t.o. het Rijksmuseum. Ik geloof dat hij inBatavia woonde en werkte. Daar trouwde hij Truus Bos (data onbekend), dochter van een vooraanstaande Indonesische functionaris. Zij was een voorkomende, aardige en beschaafde vrouw. Hun enige kind is Adriaan (Aaike), 1940, die naar verluidt nu in Amerika woont en werkt. Zijn Indonesisch leven leverde enkele Javaanse artikelen op bij zijn ouders. Ik herinner me een prauw op schaal en Indonesische schilderijtjes. Eens bracht hij voor zijn ouders een aapje mee. Ari was lid van de Loge en verder weet ik niets van ze, behalve het gegeven dat het aardige mensen waren. Zij onderhielden vooral contact met Anna en Gerrit Reinold. Ik heb ooit een nachtje bij hen gelogeerd in Den Haag, toen ik in die stad ’s morgens vroeg bij militaire zaken moestzijn.
