Elisabeth de Jonghe Wericusdr was in de vierde graad verwant aan Badeloge Bije, waarop de
officiaal van het bisdom Luik op 25 oktober 1386 besliste dat Willem kerkelijk gestraft moest
worden. Doch reeds op 11 december daarop volgende besliste dezelfde officiaa weer dat Willem
gestraft moest worden. Hij was namelijk nu weer getrouwden wel met met Sophia van Salmen,
terwijl het tweede huwelijk niet was ontbonden. Willem beriep zich op de uitspraak van 25
oktober! De derde vrouw, Sophia, werd later toch als zijn wettige echtgenote beschouwd en komt
nog voor in het testament van haar zoon Willem op 26 juni 1438. De kinderen uit het tweede
'huwelijk' werden verder als bastaarden behandeld.],
