Hij was niet aanwezig op het (eerste) huwelijk van zijn dochter Agatha Francisca. In de huwelijksbijlagen 1865 (nr.415-526), afb.269 wordt vermeld:
"Le soussigné Docteur en médecine, Médecin en chef à l'hospice des alienes à Anvers, déclare et certifie que le nommé Jean Joseph Antoine Peeters séjournant au dit établissement depuis le 12 février 1841 est atteint d'alienation mental (Epilepsie) à un tel degré, qu'il est hors d'état de manifester sa volonté quant au mariage que sa fille Agathe Françoise Peeters, née le 24 mai 1846, se propose de contracter avec le nommé Jean Arein, né le 11 mars 1845, fils de Charles et de Marie Anne Bovie."
