Notes about Ortancia Louisa Brass

FAMILIEVERHAAL (bron: Mauritius J.G.Brass): Jan Delvin zou de minnaar geweest zijn van Hortensia Ludovika Brass (ze huwden in 1887 te Gent) en hij schonk haar (of ze erfde ze via huwelijk) meerdere schilderijen waarvan zij moest beloven dat ze in de familie zouden blijven, wat ook gebeurde tot op heden. Ze kreeg een verhouding (waarschijnlijk na 1901, overlijdensjaar van haar echtgenoot) met Albert Wicheler, waarmee ze in 1918 te Koekelberg trouwde. Hij was de broer van Fernand Wicheler (1874-1935), die met Frantz Fonson in 1910 "Le Mariage de mademoiselle Beulemans" schreef, toneelstuk dat internationaal bekend werd. In de familie werd ze 'boma Wicheler of wichelaar' genoemd.
