Notes about Johan ten Holte

Johan ten Holte geniet bekendheid door zijn optreden in 1534 tegen wederdopers op 't Zandt. Geregeld komt hij voor als hoofdeling te Zeerijp en in bestuurlijke en waterstaatsaangelegenheden. Bij de inval van Lodewijk van Nassau in 1568 koos hij - aangenomen dat we hier nog met dezelfde Johan te maken hebben - diens partij. De dood bespaarde hem een veroordeling door de raad van beroerten en confiscatie van zijn goederen. Deze bleven aan zijn minderjarige kinderen. Terzelfder tijd, 1569, vond een scheiding plaats tussen de gebroeders Roelof en Wrytzer ten Holte van goederen van hun niet bij name genoemde ouders. Het is dus niet geheel duidelijk hoe de familieverhoudingen liggen.

De heerd Entekenheem had Johan ten Holte in 1560 gekocht met alle "steen" op het heem zichtbaar en onzichtbaar, met heerlijkheid, rechten, zijlrecht, kerkstoel en kerkgraven (een steenhuis).
