    Rudolph Menkman was a member of the Royal Household of Prince Willem Friso of Orange (1687-1711) at the Castle/Palace "Soestdijk". In 1758 Rudolph becomes the Inn-Keeper of Soestdijk. In the "Alderman Records" (Schepenen) of Soestdijk this event is recorded as follows: "The board of Aldermen of Soestdijk will approve the appointment of the Royal Page Rudolph Menkman to Inn Keeper, only when he will marry the oldest daughter of the Master of the Royal Hunt".
    In 1768 Rudolph is mentioned as Church Elder of the Dutch Reformed Church in Soestdijk.
