Notes about Antoine Theodore Brusse

Antoine Brusse moved to the island of Curacao in 1855 to join his brother Herman. He became a well-known teacher in the town of Willemstad. He started his own school room in Otrabanda and lived at Zaantjessteeg.
In 1871 A.T. Brusse and P.C.Leon started "Colegio Brusse & Leon" (a Middle School) in Willemstad
In 1882 A.T. Brusse published a book "Curacao en zijn bewoners" (Curacao and its inhabitants).

After his brother (Herman) died in 1862, Antoine adopted his brothers 4 children and looked after them as his own.
