Na zijn overlijden werden Cornelis Coopman en Cornelis Kuijper, beiden burgemeester, tot voogd aangesteld over de enige zoon: Cornelis Jacobsz. Hekelaer (NA 5665, nr. 65, d.d. 7-6-1781, Wormer).
