Broeder M.Samuël O.C.R., woonde en werkte in de Abdij van Onze Lieve Vrouw van Koningshoeven, het Trappistenklooster te Berkel Enschot, Tilburg.
Siem deed 15 augustus 1948 Eeuwige Professie. In het Proeflokaal hangt een prachtig schilderij van 1,5/1,5 met de tekst :
Toen Siem intrad op 7 september 1942 moest hij op de boerderij werken. Een boer zat er echter niet in en hij werd dan ook vrij vlug naar de bottelarij overgeplaatst. De Brouwerij werd op die manier de grote liefde van zijn leven. Hij werd het visitekaartje van de Brouwerij. Iedereen in Tilburg en ver daarbuiten kende deze kleine monnik met zijn witte baard.
De laatste jaren van zijn leven was hij altijd te vinden rond het Proeflokaal, waar hij iedereen met zijn vriendelijkheid te woord stond. Broeder Samuel had de gave van de humor. Met een simpele blik kon hij mensen aan het lachen maken. Dit was geen banale humor, maar was geworteld in een optimistich en diepgelovig hart. Zijn gedachtenis leeft bij veel mensen voort die nog steeds steun bij hem vinden.
