Ambt Vollenhove en Stad Vollenhove

Het gebied van de gemeente Vollenhove vormt, samen dat van de gemeente Blokzijl, het voormalige stadgericht Vollenhove en het voormalige schoutambt Vollenhove. Sinds 1 januari 1973 maken de gemeenten Stad- en Ambt Vollenhove, die reeds in 1942 waren samengevoegd tot één gemeente Vollenhove, deel uit van de gemeente Brederwiede. Van 14 februari 1795 tot februari 1803 was Blokzijl een afzonderlijk schoutambt. Voor de Doopsgezinden wordt verwezen naar Blokzijl en naar nr. 502, voor de Israëlieten naar Zwartsluis.

Het veendorp Beulake, gelegen in het schoutambt Vollenhove is bij de watervloed van 1776, toen ook het Beulakkerwijde ontstond, grotendeels, en kort daarna geheel door het water verzwolgen.

De hieronder beschreven registers van de Nederduits Gereformeerde gemeente van Vollenhove bevatten inschrijvingen van de voormalige gemeente Vollenhove en van de kerspel Barsbeek (bestaande uit de buurschappen Barsbeek, Heetveld, Kadoelen en Zuurbeek). Zie verder bij Beulake en voor de buurschappen Kuinderdijk of Baarlo bij Blokzijl. Voor De Noorden wordt naar Zwartsluis verwezen.
