Johann Lienesches was op 28 september 1572 een der onderhandelaars tijdens een geschil over een voogdijschap afgewikkeld door de rooms-katholieke kerk van Badbergen. De familienaam Lienesch is naar ale waarschijnlijkheid reeds ontstaan omstreeks 1400 via de Hoff "LYN ESCHE". Dit Lehngut wordt reeds genoemd als Lienesch Hoff in 977 zijnde een Lehnhoff van Kaiser Otto de tweede.Vanuit de leenboekenvan de bisschoppen van Osnabrück weten wij dat een Johann Hollenhagen in het jaar 1561 belehnt is met het Lienesch Erbe in Ankum. Wij hebben een vermoeden dat Johann Hollenhagen identiek is aan JohannLienesches. In die tijd varieerden de familienamen immers met het bedrijf waaraan men door pacht of bezit en familie zo nauw verbonden was.
