Het gezin woonde waarschijnlijk "aan de Graft" (de Gelderse Gracht) onder Oldebroek. Hij was diaken in de NG-kerk van Oosterwolde (Gld) en maakte als geërfde en keurnoot deel uit van het plaatselijk gericht.
Op 24-10-1771 vond er een magescheid plaats wegens de nalatenschap van Beert en Gerrigje. De zoons Willem en Hendrik jr. delen samen 28 gersen weiland en een halve mudde bouwland. Zoon Jan erft een mudde onder Oosterwolde (Gld) en Hendrik sr. krijgt fl. 400.- De dochters worden niet genoemd.
