13-3-1787 maken Catharina (sieck te bedde leggende) en Henricus van de Vloet een testament op. Middels een doktersattest blijkt Catharina nog goed beij sinne ende hare memories maghtig te sijn "Henricus kan zijn naamschrijven, Catharina krabbelt een V-tekentje" dit teken is gestelt door de testatrice die vermits de lammigheijd aan haar hand niet anders kan teekenen". Kennelijk was ze toch ernstig ziek, want 4 dagen later wordt zij begraven; "Catharina Hermers, vrou van Hendrik van de Vloet , geen kinderen nalatende". Amper drie maanden later al hertrouwd Henricus; op 30-6-1787 gaat hij op 45 jarige leeftijd en "altijt Roomsch geweest" weduwnaar van Catharina Hermers, en geassisteerd door zijn zwager Martinus Colen (gehuwdmet Hendriks zuster Engelina) in ondertrou met Maria Jan Peeter Beris, die zegt 31 jaar oud te zijn.
