    Pandelaar; Ontstaan uit één der oudst bekende toponiemen van Gemert. In een oorkonde uit 1326 wordt geschreven "Panthovelaer". Het lijkt erop alsof we uit deze schrijfwijze ook de betekenis kunnen aflezen van toen aan weerszijden van de weg gelegen in cultuur gebrachte ‘pandhoven’ (percelen) in een nog onontgonnen laargebied (broekland). Uit deze pandhoven ontstond het gehucht Pandelaar. De Gemertse naam is ‘Paandeler’. Het tracé van de weg maakt deel uit van de prehistorische route van Bakel via Gemert naar Erp. (GR 28-10-1931) Pandelaarse Kampen; Genoemd naarde buurtschap ter plaatse. Uit 1597 is er een vermelding bekend van ‘het Broek tussen d’n Hulst en de Pandelaer’ en dan is er ook al sprake van ‘een huys ende hof aent Broeck’ dat daar gesitueerd moet worden. In de zeventiende en achttiende eeuw worden huizingen daar aangeduid respectievelijk als gelegen ‘aent Hulster Broeck’ of gelegen ‘in het Kampengat’. Pas daarna heeft de benaming ‘Pandelaarse Kampen ingang gevonden.
