    In de DRENTSCHE COURANT van Dingsdag, de 6 Mei 1845 (geciteerd via 'Levend Verleden', periodiek tijdschrift van de Historische Vereniging De Smilde) stond het volgende bericht onder de kop
    Verdraagzamheid
    Voor enige tijd huwde alhier eene tot de afgescheidene gemeente behorende vrouw (Trijntje Onnes), weduwe van A. Koens, met een onbekeerd jongman (Jan Oost Haveman), zoo als de afgescheidenen zich uitdrukken.
    Geruimen tijd daarna werd hun een kind geboren,en dit kind in de herv. Kerk gedoopt. Nu heeft de WelEerw. Lindeman, leeraar der afgescheiden gemeente alhier, gister in de openbare godsdienstoefening, in bijzijn ook van vele hervormde christenen, die vrouw van de gemeente afgesneden, om reden (zeide ZwEerw.)"dat zij vr haar huwelijk in onkuischheid had geleefd en nu haar kind aan de afgodsdienst had toegewijd".
