Rimke verhuist 27 januari 1868 naar Zwartsluis, Roelof op 13 mei 1872 naar Assen, gevolgd door Evert op 14 augustus 1872 (ook naar Assen). Ze zijn allebei bakkersknecht en keren ook allebei weer terug vanuit Assen naar het ouderlijk huis op 12 februari 1873. Kleinzoon Pieter woont ook nog even bij opa en oma in. In het bevolkingsregister staat bij hem de aantekening "Koninklijk Besluit van 20 juli 1879 ( StH? no 144)". Hij vertrekt later met zijn moeder naar Zwartsluis.
