op 27 nov 1858 is hij getuige van het huwelijk van Jan Kinderdijk en Maria Hornsveld. Hij is dan 32 jaar.



in 1859 bij de geboorte van zijn dochter was hij veldwachter in Soest en woonde hij Kerkebuurt 3C, waarschijnlijk in het gemeentehuis. Hij woonde naast de oude herberg "de drie ringen". Op dat moment wordt deze bewoond door Abraham van Herwaarden die loodgieter, leidekker en herbergier was.


Na het overlijden van Petrus Matheus in 1868, vertrekt op 31 augustus 1870 het gezin naar Amersfoort.
