Notes about Sierd/ Siewert Sytses Hemrica

Hij was in 1749 uurwerkmaker op het Noordvliet in Leeuwarden. Ook hij zou de maker van de Franse klok kunnen zijn. In 1750 (14-12-1750) wordt Sievert Hemrica, geboren in Bergum, vermeld in de burgerboeken van Leeuwarden: hij betaalt 6 Carolische guldens.(M227, pagina 559)

Ik heb alleen de geboorte van zijn zoon kunnen vinden, maar ik denk dat hij ook twee dochters had: Anna/ Antie en Sanneke/ Susanna. Via Irene Visser die de familie Bocher/ Bucher uitzoekt, bleek dat Anna Anna Sieuwes Hemrica heette en dat wijst op Sieuwert als vader. Eerst dachten we zijn broer Bartel de vader kon zijn.

Dit is dus een voorlopige aanname, maar de naamgeving van de kinderen van Anna en Sanneke wijst in deze richting. In ieder geval is er een duidelijke verwantschap met de broers Bartel en Siewert Hemrica, die ook nog bij kinderen van Anna doopgetuige waren in Bergen op Zoom.

In de Leeuwarder Courant verscheen een serie historische verhalen van Jaap Hellinga: dossier Leeuwarden. Dit in samenwerking met het Leeuwarder Gemeente-archief. Op 10-3-2000 verscheen een verhaal met als titel "De anarchist, de koperslager en de Meelbrug." Op 16-1-1754 is Trijntie Suidama in paniek. Ze woont op de Voorstreek in Leeuwarden bij de Meelbrug. Haar echtgenoot, Andries Radius , is zoek. Haar buurman, houthandelaar Sjoerd Hemrica, helpt haar en vindt Andries in de waterput; hij had zelfmoord gepleegd. Andries was koopman en leed eronder dat hij schulden had. Deze Sjoerd moet haast wel Sierd zijn, alleen het beroep klopt niet..Hoewel zijn zoon later een houtwinkel heeft en die in 1796 te koop zet.
