Volgens de persoonskaart was hij rund- en varkensslager. Adressen: Wartena: Hoofdstraat 63 en Rounwei 18/ Rottevalle: Master Kuiperswei 26.Op 25-5-1926 beveelt hij zich in een advertentie aan als slger voor de ingezetenen van Wartena. Op 28-5-1928 wint hij de tweede prijs met kaatsen met S.Heegstra: partituren voor twee personen te Wartena.

Dit alles klopt wel, want op 25-9-2006 kwam er een reactie van Afke Steensma uit Zwolle, die vertelde dat ze als kind vaak in de slagerij in Warten speelde. Haar vader, David F. Steensma was onderwijzer in Warten en was toen in de kost bij de Hemrica's.

Afke stuurde mij een groepsfoto van het huwelijk van Eelkje Hemrica met Albert Postma. Zij staan onderaan in het midden. Afke is het meisje rechts beneden en houdt de hand vast van Sijtze Hemrica.Haar ouders, David en Berber Steensma staan boven elkaar recht boven Sijtze Hemrica. De vrouw van Sijtze, Marijke Kooistra, is de tweede van links op de onderste rij. Bovenaan links staan waarschijnlijk Tjerkje Hemrica en Geale de Vries.

Op de foto van het drietal staan van links naar rechts: Geale de Vries en David en Berber Steensma.

De getuige bij het huwelijk is David Steensma, te zien als hij de akte tekent.
