Notes about Pieter Goede

Ook Pieter emigreerde naar Amerika. Hij was de eerste en arriveerde op 5 juni 1905 met de Rijndam uit Rotterdam op Ellis Island. Hij was toen ongehuwd en woonde daarvoor in Haarlem. Beide broers (Pieter en Jacob) kwamen terecht in Jefferson, South Dakota en werkten als landbouwer. Deze Pieter staat in het boek over de familie Goede niet vermeld als broer, maar hij is het wel! Dat blijkt ook uit een oudere kaart uit het bevolkingsregister.

Hij reisde met twee broers uit Haarlem: Christiaan en Henri Bouwmeester.

De eerste naturalisatiepapieren (first papers) zijn van 31-5-1927,Union, locatie V00654 en V00661. De laatste (second papers) van 16-3-1931, locatie V00661 (blz 219)

Hier (second papers) staat ook zijn vrouw, Adriana van Akkeren: 26-10-1931, Union, locatie V00661 Bron: South Dakota Naturalization Records Index.(blz 226)

Via Ancestry: in 1910 in Union en te vinden in de Draft Registration Cards van 1917-1918. Als vrouw genoemd: Adriana. Dat zal dan de Adriana van Akkeren zijn, die met zijn broer Jacob meekwam. Pieter is hier 35 en farmer. Hij is van gemiddelde lengte, gemiddelde bouw, heeft grijze ogen en licht gekleurd haar. Getekend op 12-9-1918 in Elk Point, Union County, South Dakota.

In de census van 1910 wordt een partner uit Nederland vermeld: Harmon Fanderlee, 30 jaar oud. Op 15-4-1914 trouwt ene Harmen van der Lee op 35-jarige leeftijd. Dat zou hem heel goed kunnen zijn.
