Notes about Clara Coymans

1603: bij de doop van haar peetkind is zij aangegeven als "huysvrouw van Heyndrick de Haes"
Hendrick de Hase II, who was probably the son of Hendrick de Hase I, 1550-1605 (see Van Dillen, Het oudste aandeelhoudersregister, p. 220). The elder De Hase, born in Antwerp, settled in Amsterdam in 1586 and was married to Clara Coymans, also from Antwerp. Dirck van Os invested 12,000 f. in the first subscription for V.O.C. shares of 1602 on his behalf. Clara Coymans continued his business after his death, invested 12,000 f. in the second subscription for V.O.C. shares in 1612, and left a fortune of 516,000 f. after her death, which took place in June 1628. Clara was the daughter of Jeronimus Coymans I and Constantia Spinelli who died in 1581 (Elias, Vroedschap, pp. 600 and 760). The heirs of the widow de Haes, living on the West side of the Keisersgracht, paid a tax of 600 f. (Kohier, fol. 300, p. 68). Hendrick de Hase II was a merchant in the Levant trade with an account of 3 folios in the Wisselbank. He paid a tax of 150 f. in 1631 (Kohier, loc. cit.) Hendrick de Hase de jonge (II) bought lots for 11 f. 10 st. in the 1606 Haarlem lottery (GAA 132/27 F 962). He was also involved in trade with the Near East and owned lands in Schermeer (De Navorscher 69(1920),
