    In 1777 was hier mr. Jan Sijbes (misschien sinds 1762). Hij was geboren in 1742 en trouwde op 13 mei 1781 met Janke Gjalts, mede van Terwispel. Hun drie zoons zijn hier ook geboren: Gjalt op 23 April 1782, Siebe op 24 okt. 1783 en Tjibbe op 16 okt. 1785. Hij was tevens dorprechter en ontvanger. In de winter hield hij school en in de zomer werkte hij bij een boer. Wegens prinsgezindheid werd hij in 1795 geschorst, doch in 1798 weer in functie gesteld. Hij is overleden op 11 jan. 1805. Het traktement bedroeg ƒ 75 per jaar voor één jaar kerkdienst en één winter schooldienst; (resp. ƒ 10 en ƒ 65.
