Alida Jacoba Zeeman Bessembinders, 74, returned to our Lord and Savior June 3, 1999. Alida, loving mother, wife, sister, and friend succumbed to a long and courageous struggle with lupus and other complications.
Alida was born January 8, 1925 in Wageningen, the Netherlands. Alida was the fourth child of Jacob and Alida Zeeman. She married Jan Hendrik (John) Bessembinders on October 23, 1946. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple on July 11, 1956. John and Lydia immigrated to Canada in 1954 and ultimately to Logan, Utah as a result of their conversion to the LDS church.Alida is survived by her husband, John; and sisters, Breg and Jo. Alida brought seven children into this world and is survived by six. Her surviving children are: Bert (Lynn) Bessembinders, Petronella (Klare) Oliver, Jacob (Lurene) Bessembinders, Hendrik (Debbi) Bessembinders, Judy (John) Sessions, and Paul (Alice) Bessembinders. Alida is preceded in death by her son, Mark and brother, Pieter. Alida proudly claimed the love of 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon at the North Logan Stake Center, 2750 North 800 East. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. at Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center, Logan and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Logan City Cemetery.
She is married to Jan Hendrik Bessembinders.
They got married on October 23, 1946, she was 21 years old.
