Funeral Is Held Tuesday for Mrs. S. Van Otterloo
Funeral services for Mrs. Steven Van Otterloo, 95, who died at the Sioux Center Community hospital Friday, were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Reformed church here.
The Rev. Harry Brower officiated and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery with Vander Ploeg's Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Van Otterloo, nee Pieterje Porma, was born December 20 1867, in The Netherlands and immigrated to the U.S. in 1903. The following year she married to Steven Van Otterloo at Rock valley. She had since made her home in Sioux County.
Her husband preceded her in death July 8, 1926. Survivors include a son, Peter, of Grand Rapids, Mich., and a daughter, Grace, Mrs. Henry Ter Haar of Sioux Center. Seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive her.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gertrude, who died at age 10, and one grandchild, Philip John, who passed away October 8 1950. Pallbearers were Clarence Moll, Neal C. Mol, Marinus Louwerse, John Bonnema, John DeVries, E. J Kosters.
