Zij vergezelde Karel naar Italië in 773 en 781.

Gravin van Vinzgouw 758-783.
Gezien zij (Paulus Diaconus) in het 13e jaar van haar huwelijk overleed, moet haar huwelijk met Karel 'de Grote' dateren uit 771 en wel voor 30 Apr.. Haar herkomst van moederszijde uit het huis der hertogen van Alemannië staat vast, zie bv. Thegan (cap.6)
Dochter van Gerold I (?), graaf in de Vinzigouw en Emma, uit het
geslacht der Alamannen. Hildegard was een broer van Hadrianus van
Orleans, die met Waldrade, uit het geslacht der Widonen was gehuwd.
Uit dit huwelijk werd Waldrade geboren, die erfdochter werd van de
goederen rond Orleans.
Deze laatste huwde circa 800 met Rupert III, graaf in de Wormsgouw,
overl. voor 834. Rupert III en Waldrade van Orleans werden de ouders van
Rutpert IV, de stamvader van de Robertijnen en daarmee van het latere
Franse koningshuis Capet. Zie Gens Nostra, de verschillende Karel de
