Johan Louis (roepnaam Lou) Braakman, geboren op 16 februari 1913 te Haarlem en overleden op 22 november 1996 te Haarlem, was tabakshandelaar. Hij was eigenaar van het sigarenmagazijn Prinsenhof in de Jacobijnestraat 8 in Haarlem. Op 16 december 1986 ontving hij ter gelegenheid van het 50-jarig bestaan van zijn zaak de gouden eremedaille Oranje Nassau uit handen van de burgemeester van Haarlem. Braakman legde een verzameling aan van 6899 prentbriefkaarten van Haarlem en omstreken. Nationaal Archief

Lou Braakman werkte in de oorlogsjaren mee aan de verspreiding van het illegale blad De LUISTERVINK in Haarlem en in zijn huis werd ook het blaadje NAAR DE OVERWINNING gemaakt nadat de maker ervan was gearresteerd. In zijn sigarenzaak werd veel informatie over en weer uitgewisseld!
