Sir Robert of Ogle, Knight of Ogle, Warden of Roxborough Castle, Son of Sir Robert, knight of Ogle and Bothel Castles (Clay,88; D'Angerville - 267); Matilda (Maud) Grey was daughter of Sir Thomas Gray and Jane De Mowbray (D'Angerville-266). Alive 22 Aug 1451; See Burke's Peerage & Baronetage 1968 edition, p 1103, where she is called matilda. (from the Magna Charta Sureties, 1215 (Weis))

Maud Grey married about 21 May 1399 Robert Ogle, Knight of Ogle, Hepple, Shilvington,Saltwick, etc.Northumberland, Knight of the Shire for Northumberland, sheriff of Northumberland, constable of Barwick-upon-Tweed, Norham, Roxburgh, and Wark castles, Steward of the Bishop of Durhams liberty of Northamshire and Islandshire, son and heir of robert Ogle,knight Ogle, Bothol, Hepple, etc. by Joan, daughter and co-heiresss of Alan Heton, knt. He was born 1380-84(variously ages 26 and 30 in 1410). they had three sons, Robert,Knt.(1st Lord Ogle), John Esq. and William Esq., and seven daughters, Margaret(or Margery), Elizabeth, Constance(wife of John Mitford Knt.) Joan(or Jane) _____ wife of John lilburn, ____wife of Thomas Lisle____wife of Matthew Whitfield, Knt.

In 1424 he was a member of the embassy appointed to conduct James, king of Scotland from Durham into Scotland. Sir Robert Ogle died 12 August 1436. His widow Maud was living in 1453/54
