Sir Robert Constable, of Flamburgh, who was knighted before 16 Henry VI when he was Sheriff of Yorkshire, which office he also held 2 and 3 Edward IV; Member of Parliament for County of York; died 19 Henry VI, 1441; will dated May 23, 1441; married Agnes, daughter of Sir William Gasgoigne, of Gawthorp, Knight, Lord Chief Justice. Her will, dated January 7, 1466, was proved Feb. 5, 1466 (York. Arch. Soc., Rec. Series, Vol. VI); she was buried at Flamburgh.
