Notes about Wolfgerus van Amstel

Hij was vermoedelijk de eerste leenheer van Amstelland.
Wolfgerus werd geboren in het hertogdom Neder-Lotharingen en wordt rond 1100 aangesteld als schout van Amstelland. Hij komt in 1105 voor in een geschrift van bisschop Burchard. In 1118 neemt hij zitting in de tienkoppige ministriaal van de bisschop van Utrecht en heeft een stem in de werkzaamheden die plaatsvinden in Amstelland. In 1126 komt hij nogmaals voor in een geschrift van bisschop Godebald. Aan het einde van zijn leven bezat hij diverse landgoederen en schouttitels aangeduid als Villicatio dat zich bevond tussen Kennemerland en IJsselstein.
