Anno 1537 - Maandag na St.Simon en Judens(?) - Huwelijkscontract tusschen Iwo Auwema en Frouke Jelkema, verleden voor Johan Hopper, pastor in Oldebuert (=Tolbert), Harcko Ywema, heer Egbert Mensema, prebendaat ten Niekercken en Frans Bijwema. (Jelkema: eveneens een welgesteld eigenerfdengeslacht uit Niekerk, doch de bruidsschat voor voornoemd huwelijk kostte vader Ewe en moeder Ena de halve heerd, een stal koeien en nog een zilveren servies. De volgende oorlogsjaren hebben dit geslacht verder de das omgedaan: in 1600 moest de Yelkemaheerd gerechtelijk worden verkocht.)
De bruidegom Iwo Auwema is (later) 'redger' in Vredewold.
