Hij stelt rond 1265 samen met de andere rechters, Reiner Egeramus en Hikko Idzinga, en met toestemming van het volk, een terrein in Marienthal (bij Norden) beschikbaar aan de Dominicaner orde voor een kerk. De plek wordt omschreven als "ein Ort lieblich und fruchtbar". De oude muntwerkplaats krijgen ze als woning ter beschikking.
"Die neue Einrichtung gefiel, weil sie sich dazu bekannten, die Armut und die Arbeit zu lehren, der sich die übrigen Mönche schon entzogen hatten." (Ubbo Emmius 164). Von hier aus wird 1350 (Pest) das Kloster Ö;stringfelde wieder aufgebaut und einem Kollegium von Jungfrauen geweiht. (Ubbo Emmius 203).
Haiko Udenga stamt mogelijk af van Liudprondus (=Lubbe) de Friesia en Thiadulf. Een en ander is nog in onderzoek. Liudprondus schenkt in 1061 "der Bremer Kirche zu seinem, Gattin Ige, seiner Eltern Wibert (= Wibet), Reinwl (=Reinolda, Rineld) und seiner Voreltern Seelenheil von seinem Erbgut bei Orschem.. Land im Pachtwert von 1 Pfund Silber/a; evtl. der Butjadinger Küstenhafen Otzum, den das Stader Kopiar 1420 nennt". [Bron: A. Salomon: mei, regesten, Nr. 262].
