SCHENKSTRAAT, gelegen tussen de Schenkweg en de Eerste van den Bosch Straat, kreeg haar naam in 1884 naar de Schenkweg. Tot 3 maart 1945 liep de Schenkstraat door tot aan het Louise de Colignyplein. Deze verlenging dateerde uit 1898.

Hij trouwde op 19 mei 1897 te Den Haag met Alida van Kuijen (ca. 1876), die circa 1876 is geboren. Haar ouders van Alida waren Johannes Leonardus van Kuijen, die behanger was, en Elisabeth Middelkoop. Ze woonden in Den Haag.
Getuige bij het huwelijk tussen Abraham (1873) en Alida (ca. 1876) was de toen 26-jarige Cornelis Wilhelmus van Oijen (1871), de opa van mijn man Jim (1930). Ik stel mij zo voor – als Cornelis toen al verloofd was met zijn latere vrouw Wilhelmina (Mien) Geertruida Elisabeth van der Hoeven (1870) (Jims oma) – dat zij ook wel bij de trouwpartij aanwezig zal zijn geweest. Op de trouwakte staat dat Cornelis (1871) en zoon Abraham (1873) neven van elkaar waren. Hun respectievelijke ouders, nl. Magdalena (1848) en Adrianus (1845) waren zus en broer – kinderen van het echtpaar Abraham (1820) en Wilhelmina (1824).
Een dochter van deze Magdalena (1848), nl. Johanna C.M. van Oijen (1877), trouwde later met Dirk van Kuijen, die een broer blijkt te zijn van bovengenoemde Alida van Kuijen (ca. 1876). Broer en zus van Kuijen werden op deze manier dus ook nog aangetrouwde neef en nicht van elkaar. Blijkbaar konden de families Van Oijen en Van Kuijen het goed met elkaar vinden.
