De familie kwam op 27/07/1926 uit de Keuzestraat te Drongen te Lotenhulle wonen op de Barelhoek waar ze landbouwers waren.. Maria is een verre nicht van Coleta Verbrugghe x Jean-Baptiste Blondia.
