Henry J. "Dutch" Blokland, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 7, 2013. Born April 17, 1929, he was the son of the late Henricus and Gerardina (Kuyt) Blokland. Dutch has lived in Longmeadow for the past thirty-six years and previously resided in Springfield. He was a graduate of Technical High School and Western New England College, Class of 1963. A communicant of St. Mary's Church, he retired in 1989 after working forty-three years with Package Machinery Co. of East Longmeadow. Dutch is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-three years, Elizabeth (Obrycki) Blokland;

Four loving sons, Gary and his wife Judy, of Utah, Bruce and his wife Barbara, of Vermont, Michael and his wife Eileen, of Tennessee, and David and his wife Doreen, of Arizona;

Seven cherished grandchildren, Christopher, of Georgia, Allison, of Maine, Eric, of Montana, Courtney and her husband Blake, of California, Heather and her husband Richard, of Arizona, Kimberly, of Arizona, and Vanessa, of California

And six cherished great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Charlee, Myloh, Aleah, Richard and Ethan.

He was predeceased by his infant son, Bryan Blokland.

Funeral services for Dutch will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM from the Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Mary's Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7 PM.
