    *In de vroege ochtend van 26 mei jl is emeritus-priester George Blom overleden op de leeftijd van 86 jaar. Voor onze parochie oud-pastoor Blom. George Blom diende de St.Vitusparochie van 1986 tot 1993. Daarna was hij betrokken bij de parochie als parochiaan en heeft hij ook nog vaak mogen voorgaan. De laatste keer was op 24 november 2013 tijdens de viering waarin het 50-jarig huwelijksjubileum van George en Maria Blom-Blokland en het 60-jarig priesterjubileum van George Blom werden gevierd.
    Condoleren en gelegenheid tot afscheid nemen is op zondag 31 mei van 16.00 tot 17.30 uur in Afscheidscentrum Van Vuure, Melkpad 23 (tegenover de kerk).
    De eucharistieviering ter uitvaart van George Blom zal worden gehouden op maandag 1 juni aanstaande om 11.00 uur in de Sint Vitus aan het Melkpad. Aansluitend condoleren en koffie in De Akker.
    Om 14.00 uur vindt de begrafenis plaats op de Zuiderhof, Kolhornseweg 13 te Hilversum

    *Op 26 mei jl. overleed emeritus priester George Johan Blom. Geboren op 9 juni 1928 in Batavia (Nederlands-Indie¨) werd hij dus bijna 87 jaar oud. Op twintigjarige leeftijd trad hij als rechtenstudent in Amsterdam toe tot de Oud-Katholieke Kerk en een jaar later schreef hij zich in aan het Oud-Katholiek Seminarie. De diaken- en priesterwijding volgden elkaar snel op in 1953 en hij begon zijn loopbaan in de kerk als kapelaan te Egmond aan Zee. Daarna volgden de nodige parochies: Krommenie, Gouda, Oudewa- ter en Schoonhoven, Dordrecht, Rotterdam en weer Egmond en tenslotte Hilversum.
