Vanaf 1753 tot 1760 woont hij te Lemmer. In 1760 is hij ontvanger te Joure. Dan wordt zijn zoon Jacob Ankringa daar gedoopt. Pas in 1761 wordt hij kerkelijk ingeschreven in Joure, "in 1761 ingekomen van Lemmer". In hetzelfde jaar wordt hij kerkenraadslid van de Hervormde kerk te Joure. Zijn vrouw Grietje Jacobs (Koning) doet in 1762 belijdenis. Ze wordt dan vermeld als "Weduwe van de ontvanger Pietter Ankringa".
