Vanaf ongeveer 1943 krijgt Map kontakt met Klaas Assendelft en tevens ook kontakt met Gre Akkerman die ongeveer 12 jaar ouder is als hij. Zij heeft op dat moment al twee kinderen. Kleine greetje en jannie. Uit de correspondentie die ik heb blijkt dat Map in 1943 zichzelf uit Zwammerdam heeft laten bijschrijven op het adres van Gre. Alkmaarseweg 15 te Beverwijk. Al voordat hij werd opgepakt om via de p.e.n. voor de duiters te gaan werken erg gek was op Gre. Wanneer hij dan weet te omzeilen om verder voor de duitsers te werken en gaat varen is Gre al in verwachting van Rudi. Rudi wordt geboren 2 januari 1945, de hogerwinter en uit de brieven blijkt, dat Map het moeilijk vind dat ze in Beverwijk zo weinig te eten hebben. Hij stuurt af en toe wat op. Ook vraagt hij in de brieven regelmatig naar zijn kleine jongen. Hij heeft ook ooit nog foto's opgestuurd gekregen (ongeveer december 1945) Ik weet niet wat er mis is gegaan. Volgens mij heeft mijn oma er een punt achter gezet in april 1946. waarom weet ik niet precies. Mijn oma is namelijk in november 1979 overleden, ik was toen nog maar 7 jaar. Alles wat ik weet is dus uit de brieven of van horen zeggen. Mijn vader Ruud heeft nooit de behoefte gehad zijn biologische vader te gaan zoeken ook al wist hij wel altijd wie dat was.
Na het verbreken van de relatie met Map zijn de kinderen jannie en Ruud op de naam van Klaas Assendelft gezet, maar die kon geen kinderen krijgen. Hij heeft een tijd in huis gewoont bij mijn oma, maar ik geloof, dat toen zij erachter kwam dat hij tijdens de oorlog met de duitsers had gewerkt zij hem er in 1947 heeft uitgezet.. Deze informatie is dus nog een aanvulling voor jouw stamboom en je bent dus nog (verre) famielie van mij, want mijn overgroot opa was jouw oud oom. Grappig he? Zo heb ik ineens meer familie dan ik dacht.
