Koos Hendriks, in Liessel bekend als juffrouw Hendriks, begon haar loopbaan in het onderwijs in mei 1932 bij de meisjesschool in Deurne. Daarna werkte ze voor korte periodes in Liessel aan de meisjesschool, in Aarle-Rixtel en in Bakel.

Per 1 januari 1937 kwam ze voorgoed als onderwijzeres terug naar haar geboortedorp, waar ze les gaf aan de R.K. Meisjesschool, die later Mariaschool ging heten. Het werd haar levenswerk. Met veel liefde en geduld begeleidde ze de oudste meisjes in de zesde klas en bereidde ze hen voor op het vervolgonderwijs. Ze verstond de kunst om de vele vernieuwingen binnen het onderwijs kritisch te volgen, maar ook in haar werk toe te passen.

Niet alleen binnen de school maar ook in het verenigingsleven kende men haar prachtige handschrift en werd vaak een beroep op haar gedaan vanwege haar schrijfkunst.

Op 23 december 1976 nam ze, na ruim 44 dienstjaren, op 65-jarige leeftijd afscheid van het onderwijs.

Op 29 april 1977 ontving juffrouw Hendriks uit handen van de toenmalige loco-burgemeester en dorpsgenoot Harrie Rijnders de Eremedaille in goud in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau vanwege haar verdiensten voor het Liesselse onderwijs.

Koos Hendriks bleef ongehuwd. Zij woonde bijna haar hele leven in het ouderlijk huis, op het adres L.31 (Mgr. Berkvensstraat 9), samen met haar zussen Drika en Cis die eveneens ongehuwd bleven. De laatste jaren bracht Koos door in verzorgingstehuisDe Nieuwe Erve.
