Bij de huwelijksbijlagen bevindt zich een document van de rechtbank waarin inwoners van Vlodrop verklaren dat ze de ouders van Ida goed hebben gekend.
De vader is op 22 jarige leeftijd vertrokken als remplacant met het franse leger naar Duitsland en heeft nooit meer iets van zich laten horen.
Naar alle waarschijnlijkheid is hij bij de franse armée overleden.
De getuigen verklaren dat zij na zijn vertrek in goede verstandhouding met de moeder hebben geleefd in Vlodrop.
Een van hen verklaart een goede vriend van Christiaan Louis te zijn geweest.
Zijn vrouw Petronella Beulen zou nog veel moeite hebben gedaan om erachter te komen waar haar man gebleven is.

De bruid woont te Maasniel op het Spik, de bruidegom is akkerman op het Maalbroek
