Catherine Jitske Helsloot passed away
peacefully at Lake of the Woods District Hospital on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the age of 82 years.
She is survived by her son Robert and wife Linda, granddaughter Sarah, her husband Jason, great
granddaughter Kamryn, and granddaughter Abby.
Catherine was predeceased by husband Ernie.
Catherine was born in Leeuwarden, Netherlands on February 3, 1927. She immigrated to Canada in 1952 with her husband Ernie and Robert and was a Kenora resident for over 50 years.
Catherine was a talented seamstress and taught many students during evening classes. Reading and crafts such as embroidery were of her favourite pastimes and maintaining her garden was also a source of great pride.
Catherine had a special affection for animals and was a proud and active supporter of the S.P.C.A.
A Service Celebrating her Life was held at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, with burial at Lake of the Woods Cemetery.
If so wished, memorial donations may be made at the charity of choice.
